A murder was committed in Georgia. The killer was last seen in California. The victim's story was portrayed on America's Most Wanted the night before the killer came to lay carpet in our house in Alvin, Texas.
Thankfully my dog was protection trained. If he tries to find me once he's out of prison, Mirage will be ready and waiting for him!
God's Ways Are Not Our Ways, Obviously
Many times we don't, or at least I don't, recognize God is laying a foundation for something years or even decades down the road. When He uses us, even when we can only do something simple like 'Train a stupid dog', He uses those small things in great ways! He's so perfect when He sets up a scenario, it always succeeds, even when we think we are going nowhere or doing insignificant things, like teaching a dog. How could something that simple be life changing? Ask Sherry Govella, or Troy Dick. What is small to you and me can be life changing for those who need a friend, encouragement, a comforting hand, a light of hope in the sea of darkness.
God can, will, and does amplify those little 'talents' we lay at His feet. If we've made Him master in our lives, we will witness God taking our little offerings and making them grow. I'm not talking about money, but He can do that as well. I'm talking about eternal everlasting success! All the glory goes to God, but peace, joy, and happiness is ours to experience here on Earth!
I've been rich, I've been poor, and I've been in the middle. Regardless of where we were financially or spiritually, God blessed me and my family. It isn't about who has the most things or does the most work, it is about who humbles themselves before God and let's God have the reins. He has faithfully been with me in every season of my life, even when I wasn't faithful to Him. I've failed and fallen flat on my face in defeat. But God helped me back up. His hand is always reaching for yours as well.
As I grew older, I had more time for reflection. I made up my mind, I'll do my best to point others toward God. That's the desire of my heart, to share the good news that God is real and He is coming one day to destroy Satan along with all the negative things Satan created.
Today I don't sit around and wish I could go back again to when I was young, because it is like a movie I've already seen. I want to move on to something new. I want the exhilaration of watching and waiting for the times when I am able to witness Him saving souls, changing lives, helping someone who has been faithful, and helping someone who doesn't deserve it.
I don't see Him physically, but I see evidence of Him moving like the wind through the trees. Occasionally He talks directly to me, and I recognize the still, quiet voice of My Father. I love Him, but more importantly, He loves me and He loves you, too. He loved us enough to send His Son to become the perfect sacrifice necessary to pay the price for all the sin in the world then and to come.
For all the things I've experienced, this is the best time of my life. Why? Because I am more dependent on God. Because the friends who are beside me now are strong friends who believe as I believe. I clearly see the finish line in front of me. I want to share my story with you while I am able so you can also choose a free ticket to Heaven if you ask forgiveness, believe and profess He is Christ!
As you read this, a seed has been planted in you. The Bible says if you ask forgiveness for your sins, trust in Him, and confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, you will be saved.
God can choose to reward with material success, and He does at times. But He probably won't make you rich if it's your motivating factor in choosing to follow Him. If you come to Him seeking eternal life, you will find success! Along with the promise of eternal life you are offered peace and joy. They are gifts wrapped with your name on them. All you have to do is accept and enjoy them.
