Videos of Breeze Working
See her waiting for me in the doorway of my office? She's there, so I can't slip past without her seeing me go. Where I go, she goes. It's always been that way.
There are two videos on this page of Breeze, my first Service Dog. In the first video she is picking up a penny and giving it to me.
I accuse her of not picking it up after my first command, but if you look closely, you'll see she did her job, I was wrong. She's retired now because of her health, but she will always be a service dog at heart. She loves the 'high' she gets when she's working.
Her second video is at the bottom of this page.

Breeze picking up a penny. It's very difficult to teach, and hard for the dog to do. I stopped using pennies after learning copper is poisonous if swallowed.

In the next video, Breeze is picking up different items I tell her to get, and brings them to me. She's hurting and lets me know she doesn't feel like getting up. I ask her to do it anyway, because I wanted a video before it was too late. As always, my courageous girl willed her body to do what I asked. You are watching the last time I asked Breeze to work. I wanted these videos of her, because I knew it wouldn't be long and she would be gone.
I wish everyone could have seen her in motion when she was young. She had the most beautiful gait I ever saw in my life. It was as perfect and beautiful as any Olympic ice skater's performance. I wish I had filmed her, not just for you to see this one time, but for me to watch again and again.
She still retained everything she learned. In this next video so she was slow in responding because it was painful to stand up.
This was made in the summer of 2012.
